Do you Remember?

Do you remember your grandparents names?  Your great grandparents?  Your great great grandparents?  I would dare say many don't know that far back unless they've done some ancestry work and made a family tree.  But even if you do know their names, do you know what they looked like? Sounded like? Acted like? Smelled like?  For many of us it's impossible.  These people were dead and buried years before we were born.

The point?  Our life is short.  Very short, and unless you do something spectacular like becoming the President of the United States or become an A list movie star people will not remember you 50 years after you die.  Sure they might have a name and picture, and with today's technology, probably some video, but will they really know who you are?

God knows.  He knew you before you were born.  He will remember you long after you left this earth. But we aren't the main character in the story are we?  No.  Jesus is.  How can we be remembered or rather leave a legacy that will last?  By living the life Jesus called us to.

There is a movement happening.  Can you feel it?  I can.

The church is changing.  A revolution is coming.

In my last post, I talked about working outside the church, working on issues that effect the world, working on issues that effect your community.  Are you putting your money where your mouth is? Or more like it, are you putting your time where your mouth is?  We can talk all we want, but if we don't actually get up and do something, all we've done is sit around the circle and sang kumbaya.  I don't want that.  I don't think you do either.

Let's go back to the question at hand do you remember?  Do you want to be remembered?  Does it even matter if we can make a lasting change for the Kingdom just by living our lives for Jesus?

I know my answer.  Do you?
