Chase Your Dream

Image
The great thing about leaders is that they are always pushing the status quo. A great leader is never satisfied with the way things are and push to make them better.  Many leaders have a dream.  Whether it was planted in their hearts at a young age or discovered later in life, leaders have a desire to go places and take others with them. Unfortunately, our lives are not easy.  If we could accomplish our dreams as fast as we could pop a bag of popcorn then it wouldn't be a dream.  Dreams take time.  They take growth. They take persistence.  They take endurance.  Dreams bring about fear, joy, sadness, relief, frustration, and victory.  Ask someone who has achieved their dream, and they'll tell you the hardest parts and the most joy-filled.  They will tell you of seasons that brought pain, but ultimately made them better for it. I imagine if we were able to sit down with Joseph at the end of his life, he would tell us of all the bad thing...

Using your Resources to be Creative

This past Wednesday, one of our Mpact Girls Sponsors, Jenni, did something really cool to make the creation story come alive.  She made a creation tube! Here's a picture. The tube is made of medicine cups with a fun thing inside to remind kids what God did during the creation week.  When I called Jenni to ask her how she came up with this really cool, fun, and unique activity, she said she got it from Pinterest.  As a guy, I'm not a user, but I know there are a lot of great ideas out there.  You can see the full directions here.    A lot of us think we have to be super creative.  That's just not the truth.  There are a ton of resources out there that can help you find something fun, engaging, and memorable. Jenni said that the girls loved opening each container and seeing what was inside.  She said she even had trouble putting the thing back together because they wanted to see what was inside. You don't have to be gifte...

Trust Yourself Writing Challenge

In an effort to make me a better writer the next 30 days I am taking part in a writing challenge hosted by the Domino Project and Seth Godin.  Even though I usually use the blog to post things about politics, religion, my views, the next 30 days will be spent writing what the prompts give me.  If you want to know more about the project you can read about it here . I'm excited about the challenge so here goes... *Note,  I was going to post the story I wrote for the day, but I think it was a little too private for the public.  Maybe someday I will post it.  Tomorrow's will make it to the blog.
